Five Mile Creek Volunteer Day in Roebuck

On Sat­ur­day, March 19th, begin­ning at 9am, vol­un­teers will plant shrubs and wild­flow­ers, pick up trash, and remove inva­sive plants along Five Mile Creek in Roe­buck. In addi­tion, the instal­la­tion of a new Five Mile Creek Green­way sign will be installed. Reg­is­tra­tion begins at 8am, and work will begin at 9am and last until 12pm. A hot dog lunch will be served to volunteers.

LOCATION: In Roe­buck at the park­ing lot of Alabama Power’s new (open­ing March 21) East Jef­fer­son busi­ness office and appli­ance cen­ter at 9820 Park­way East across from Sonic restaurant.

CHILDREN WELCOMEWEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHES & STURDY SHOES. Bring light tools (rakes, shov­els) and work gloves if you have them.

 The Five Mile Creek vol­un­teer events are a project of the Five Mile Creek Green­way Part­ner­ship and the Alabama Power Ser­vice Orga­ni­za­tion.
