FIVE MILE CREEK GREENWAY VOLUNTEER EVENT 2012
On Saturday, May 19, the Alabama Power Service Organization and the Five Mile Creek Greenway Partnership are gearing up for the 9th Annual Five Mile Creek Greenway Volunteer event in Tarrant. Volunteers will install Five Mile Creek Greenway markers along a section of the route in central Tarrant. Volunteers can also do minor painting and trash pickup, and plant flowers. Everyone is invited after the morning volunteer event to enjoy Tarrant’s Five Mile Creek Festival, taking place just a few blocks away. All ages are welcome and be sure to wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes. Bring light tools (rakes, paintbrushes) if you have them. DIRECTIONS: From downtown Birmingham: Take Interstate 20/59 east to the Tallapoosa Street exit (No. 128). Go north on Tallapoosa Street (AL 79) for about 2.4 miles. Turn right at East Lake Boulevard to get to the school.
