FIVE MILE CREEK GREENWAY VOLUNTEER EVENT 2012

On Sat­ur­day, May 19, the Alabama Power Ser­vice Orga­ni­za­tion and the Five Mile Creek Green­way Part­ner­ship are gear­ing up for the 9th Annual Five Mile Creek Green­way Vol­un­teer event in Tarrant. Volunteers will install Five Mile Creek Green­way mark­ers along a sec­tion of the route in cen­tral Tar­rant. Vol­un­teers can also do minor paint­ing and trash pickup, and plant flow­ers. Every­one is invited after the morn­ing vol­un­teer event to enjoy Tarrant’s Five Mile Creek Fes­ti­val, tak­ing place just a few blocks away. All ages are wel­come and be sure to wear com­fort­able clothes and sturdy shoes. Bring light tools (rakes, paint­brushes) if you have them. DIRECTIONS: From down­town Birm­ing­ham: Take Inter­state 20/59 east to the Tal­lapoosa Street exit (No. 128). Go north on Tal­lapoosa Street (AL 79) for about 2.4 miles. Turn right at East Lake Boule­vard to get to the school.
