Join the Freshwater Land Trust and Fox 6 on Tuesday, September 4, to visit Ruffner Mountain, one of Birmingham’s most beautiful parks! We will be walking with folks at Ruffner Mountain this month to see their wonderful trails and how they connect to the Red Rock Ridge & Valley Trail System.
This appearance is the fifteenth, once-a-month “Red Rock Tuesday” segment on Good Day Alabama. We have had great crowds out in Brookside, Pinson, Tarrant, Homewood, Hoover, Birmingham, Gardendale, Trussville, Vestavia and Clay, Red Mountain Park, Midfield, and Norwood. Now it is Ruffner Mountain’s turn show everyone their beautiful park and trails. We hope to see you at Ruffner Mountain on September 4!
Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve is a 1,011 acre natural oasis located on one of the last undeveloped stretches of the Red Mountain ridge known as Ruffner Mountain. Just a 10 minute escape from downtown Birmingham–Ruffner feels like a world away. Miles of peaceful forested trails with surprising biodiversity, wetlands teaming with wildlife, remnants of our past mining history, and spectacular views from several overlooks await those who venture out.
